Discover how Rye’s location on Long Island Sound helped shape our unique city. \nWe explore all different aspects of our coastal community\, beginning with the natural resources that attracted Indigenous people centuries ago. We also examine the industries that drove our economy\, from farming\, milling\, shipbuilding\, and fishing\, to recreation along our beachfront. Looking at present day Rye\, we honor on-going preservation efforts while considering the inherent risks of waterfront living. \nCurated for all ages. \nExhibit is FREE and open Tuesday – Saturday\, 10am to 4pm
