SUMMARY:Wainwright House - Don't Make Me Laugh: A Pelvic Floor Panel
DESCRIPTION:Don’t Make Me Laugh is a conversation twenty years overdue. Guided by Fiona Jalinoos\, this panel brings together three pelvic floor physiotherapists and a high-risk OB/GYN to talk honestly about one of the most consequential — and least discussed — parts of the female body. Not in hushed tones. Not in euphemism. In real\, structural\, useful terms. \nWhat’s actually happening down there across pregnancy\, birth\, perimenopause\, and beyond. What’s preventable. What’s treatable. What you should have been told years ago\, by someone who actually knew. \nThis isn’t a symptom-management talk. It’s the conversation that should have come first. \nThis event is open to all ages and genders who are curious to learn\, reflect\, and engage. Come for the conversation\, stay for the community\, and leave inspired by the possibilities of midlife. \nFacilitator & Panelists \nFiona Jalinoos\, C-IAYT\nCertified Yoga Therapist & Yoga Teacher\nFiona Jalinoos is a certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist with over 30 years of personal practice in various styles of yoga worldwide. She teaches regular and pelvic floor group classes and works one-on-one with clients\, supporting people through midlife and beyond with compassion and practical tools. | Learn more at fionajalinoosyoga.com \nDr. Tracy Shevell\nBoard-Certified High-Risk OB/GYN & Women’s Health Advocate\nI’m a board-certified high-risk OB/GYN and women’s health advocate dedicated to changing the paradigm of care for women. With 25 years in academic medicine\, trained at Mount Sinai and Columbia\, then speding almost 20 years in hospital care in New York and Fairfield County earning multiple teaching awards\, I’ve pivoted\, reinvented\, and devoted the second half of my career to empowering women through education and advocacy that extends beyond traditional clinical settings. \nMy unique perspective as both physician and patient allows me to address the real challenges women face in healthcare. I specialize in translating complex medical topics into accessible\, actionable information—covering everything from evidence-based medicine to the emotional and holistic aspects of wellness. My approach combines clinical expertise with recognition of what women actually need: to feel seen\, heard\, and understood in medical spaces. \nAs a recognized voice in modern healthcare communication\, I focus on providing practical tools that help women become their own best health advocates. Whether working with organizations seeking authentic medical expertise on sensitive topics or reaching women directly through innovative educational approaches\, my mission remains the same: ensuring every woman has the knowledge and confidence to make informed health decisions. \nI’m also the author of Labor and Deliverance\, a women’s health book coming January 2027. \nMy “doctor best friend” approach to healthcare education has resonated with diverse audiences who appreciate credible medical expertise delivered with empathy and real-world understanding. \nDr. Victoria Colon\, PT\, DPT\nPelvic Floor Physical Therapist & Founder\, V Strong PT\nDr. Victoria Colon is a pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapist and the founder of V Strong PT in Armonk. Inspired by both her professional work and personal experience\, Dr. Victoria is passionate about helping women feel stronger\, more confident\, and supported from pregnancy through menopause and beyond. She is dedicated to educating women about pelvic health and empowering them with the tools and knowledge to improve their quality of life. \nDr. Nidhi Sharma\, PT\, DPT\, OCS\, WCS\nDouble Board-Certified Pelvic Health Physical Therapist\nDr. Nidhi Sharma\, PT\, DPT\, OCS\, WCS is a double board-certified physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and orthopedics\, with over a decade of clinical experience working with women. She helps women understand and care for their pelvic health through every stage of life\, from pregnancy and postpartum to menopause and beyond. Passionate about supporting athleticism at all ages\, she works with women experiencing symptoms like leaking\, pelvic pain\, and core weakness\, back and spinal pain so they can stay active and move with confidence. \nMaria O’Connor\, PT\nPelvic Health Physical Therapist & Founder\, Revive Studio and HOPP Pelvic Floor Therapy\nWith nearly two decades of experience in physical therapy\, I began my career in 2007\, specializing in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation before expanding my focus to include the pediatric population. My clinical journey took a more personal turn following my own experiences with pelvic health challenges after three vaginal childbirths and a diagnosis of lupus. These experiences inspired me to specialize in pelvic health in 2019. \nI approach care through a holistic lens\, recognizing the deep connection between physical\, emotional\, and mental health—particularly as it relates to the pelvic region and its impact on the entire body. I am committed to treating the body as an integrated system\, identifying root causes\, and providing individualized\, hands-on care tailored to each client. \nI am the founder of Revive Studio\, a holistic wellness center in Larchmont\, and HOPP Pelvic Floor Therapy\, a pelvic health clinic dedicated to supporting both women and men. My mission is to empower clients to feel seen\, validated\, and ultimately live pain-free\, balanced lives.

SUMMARY:Wainwright House The Labyrinth Within: A Journey Inward
DESCRIPTION:A guided labyrinth experience inspired by the changing light of September. Join Nadia Monosova for an experiential introduction to the labyrinth\, a centuries-old contemplative practice of reflection\, meditation\, and self-discovery. Unlike a maze\, a labyrinth offers a single winding path\, inviting us to slow down\, turn inward\, and listen. \nAgainst the tranquil backdrop of the harbor\, we’ll explore the labyrinth as a living map between the outer world and our inner landscape. Through gentle preparation\, guided reflection\, and a mindful walk on Wainwright’s outdoor labyrinth\, participants will set a personal intention and move through three stages of the path: releasing\, receiving\, and returning. \nRather than seeking a particular answer\, the practice invites us to notice what emerges – our thoughts\, emotions\, sensations\, and the quieter wisdom that can arise when we make space to listen. \nYou’ll experience:\nAn introduction to the history\, symbolism\, and contemplative tradition of the labyrinth\nGuidance for preparing for a walk and setting a personal intention\nA mindful labyrinth journey through releasing\, receiving\, and returning\nReflection on the insights and sensations that arise\nA simple contemplative practice for moments of transition\, uncertainty\, or overwhelm \nNo prior meditation or labyrinth experience is needed. All are welcome. \nAbout Nadia\nNadia Monosova is the founder of Inner Drawing Room and a designer of contemplative experiences blending labyrinth traditions\, meditative drawing\, mindful movement\, and reflective practices. Her work creates space for deeper listening and reconnecting with the wisdom within. \nNadia is a Certified Specialist in Labyrinths of Development and a Certified NeuroGraphica® Specialist and facilitates workshops at the Integral Yoga Institute and other community organizations. \nThis experience is intended for guests 18 years and older. Advance registration is required. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
