Every week we will post a new recipe and meet on Zoom to learn how to cook it! 12/9 Noodle KugelIngredients:-1 cup packed dark brown sugar-1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour-1 tsp. ground cinnamon (for streusel topping) + 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon (for kugel)-1/2 tsp. salt-1 stick unsalted butter\, cold-12 oz. bag wide egg noodles-4 large eggs-8 oz. sour cream-8 oz. cream cheese\, softened-2 cups half & half-1/2 cup granulated sugar-1 1/4 tsp. salt-2 tsps. vanilla extractEquipment: -Bowls/spoons-Oven/oven mitts-9×13 baking dish-Large pot-Aluminum Foil**Recipe Note: This recipe is a traditional Jewish holiday dish that I thought would be fun to make before Hanukkah begins on December 11th. It bakes for a long time! We will assemble all of the pieces of this dish together in class\, and most of the baking will occur after we sign off. I will give you all instructions in class so you should have no trouble baking it on your own following the class\, just be aware that it will be in the oven for a long time (1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes total). This event is encouraged for kids 5-12 and their grownups. Gather together with a handful of simple ingredients and get ready to create a tasty snack together with children’s librarian Ms. Lisa. Every week we will post a new recipe and meet on Zoom to learn how to cook it! 11/18 Potsticker SoupIngredients:-1 tbsp. olive oil-1 package frozen gyoza (I get mine at Trader Joe’s but you can use whatever brand you like\, and any type you like as well! Veggie\, shrimp\, pork\, etc)-2 boxes (32 oz. each) low sodium chicken broth (you can also use vegetable broth if you would like)-1 bag (5 oz) baby spinach-1 small onion-3 celery stalks-3 medium sized carrots-1 tbsp. soy sauce-1 tbsp. sesame oil-salt/pepper-Cilantro (optional\, for garnish)Equipment:-Large pot & spatula-Skillet-Cutting board/knife This event is encouraged for kids 5-12 and their grownups. Recipes may require use of kitchen tools\, oven\, or stove. These kits are appropriate for children from K-5th grade. Take and Make Kits from the library are free! Sign up ahead of time on our reservation page to request your kit and arrange a pickup time at our outdoor curbside pickup table. New kits are released on Wednesdays\, but are available for pickup all week. Let us know in your reservation how many children you need a kit for\, but please limit your request to one kit per child.
