SUMMARY:Kindness Campaign\, Bracelet Making Workshop at The Rye Library
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we host a workshop to make Kind Bracelets to support The Kindness Campaign. \nWhat is a Kind Bracelet? \nEvery year\, The Kindness Campaign distributes Kind Bracelets with an inspiring message to children across the nation\, reminding them that THEY ARE ENOUGH. Messages include uplifting words and messages\, along with colorful beads. This event is open to people of all ages to come together and create bracelets to make someone’s day! Make a bracelet for someone\, make a bracelet for yourself! \nSupplies will be provided. Bracelets will be collected at the end of the workshop to be sent to The Kindness Campaign headquarters in Texas. \nRSVPs are appreciated to ensure we have enough supplies. Email sasha.bergtraum@gmail.com for more info or to RSVP. \nAbout The Kindness Campaign \nThe Kindness Campaign (TKC®) was founded in 2015 to make a change in the world. Teaming up with teachers\, creatives\, and other experts in the field of emotional health\, this nonprofit focuses on teaching social-emotional learning skills in fun\, engaging ways and supports children around the nation. \nTheir mission is to provide emotional support to children in need which is why their message is so powerful. The Kindness Campaign offers an opportunity to give back\, in a fun and engaging way.

DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Book Sale will take place on Saturday\, September 19th and Sunday\, September 20th\, 2026. The book sale is open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday\, and from 10 pm to 3 pm on Sunday. \nWhat are the prices for the items? \n\nChildren’s books are $1 each\nTeen books are $3 each\nAdult books are $3 each\n\nWhat items can I donate to the library book sale? \nBeginning September 8\, 2026\, you can donate any book in good condition to the book sale. We accept material for all ages and all genres. Please limit your donation to no more than 5 boxes or bags. Donations will only be accepted through September 17th. \nPlease note that library staff are not able to unload donations from private vehicles. \nWhat items do you not accept? \n\nAny books that have water damage\, mold damage\, missing pages or are heavily marked up\nAny books that are library discards\nEncyclopedias\nReader’s Digest condensed books\nVCR tapes or cassette tapes\nDVDs\nCDs\nMagazines\nPhone books\nComputer books older than 5 years\nTextbooks\n\nWhere can I donate my items? \nItems for the book sale must be brought to the library meeting room. Items must be donated during the library opening hours. The library will not be able to return boxes or bags that are left with donations. \nPlease do not donate items through the library book return slot. \nPlease do not leave items by the library doors. \nAre my book donations tax deductible? \nYour donation is tax deductible. We will provide a letter acknowledging receipt of donated items upon request.
