DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, July 21st at 7:00 pm UPDATE: College Admissions\, the Holistic Review Process and Community Service in the time of COVID-19 We are offering this Zoom presentation to help families understand how the college admissions landscape is changing due to COVID-19 and what impact it will have on rising Seniors\, Juniors and Sophomores. The college admissions process is undergoing significant and lasting changes as many colleges and universities have gone test optional. This means that admissions officers will give more weight to college essays\, extracurricular activities\, teacher recommendations and community service projects when they review applications as part of the holistic review process which we will explain. This program covers how admissions officers are handling the current situation and how students can position themselves to develop a compelling narrative to stand out and increase their chances for admission. The presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper\, partners at Stand Out For College\, LLC. Please RSVP to ron@standoutforcollege.com. SUMMARY:Teen Take and Make: ISPY Community Project
DESCRIPTION:.Take and Make an I SPY page kit that will become part of a book! The library will provide a kit of unique bits and bobs\, and participants are encouraged to add their own home’s flare to the project. Best practices directions will be provided so everyone’s final photo of their collage will be gorgeous as its blown up to a full page spread in the book we create! Participants will have 1 week from picking up their kit to submit their photograph for the book.This project is open to all members of our community of any age\, and we do encourage younger creators to have adult supervision. Community members eligible for community service will receive 2 hours for their work as well.  There will be a limited number kits available\, so sign up and reserve yours now to be a part of this amazing project. Please be aware\, kits may contain items that may pose a choking hazard to younger children.
