SUMMARY:Cowboys and Skinners: The Perilous Life in the Neutral Ground
DESCRIPTION:Hear Jan Kelsey\, Rye resident\, President of the Board of Trustees of the Westchester Historical Society\, and former archivist for the Rye Historical Society\, discuss the Cowboys and Skinners\, two notorious gangs that ravaged Rye and Westchester County during the Revolutionary War. Our communities endured seven years of fear and lawlessness from 1776 to 1783 as they faced foraging troops\, gangs of marauders\, military skirmishes\, economic hardship and political upheaval on a daily basis. Families had divided loyalties and many fled to either New York or Connecticut to escape the violence of the so-called “Neutral Ground.”

SUMMARY:Space & Time: Clay Art Center Artists Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Clay Art Center is pleased to present SPACE & TIME\, an exhibition of functional and sculptural ceramics by Clay Art Center Artists. Guest Curated by past Artist-in-Residence Max Seinfeld\, this exhibition explores the concepts of space and time as metaphors for lived experiences\, as containers for memory\, as real or imagined realms\, and as narratives for the human condition. \nPlease join us for an Opening Reception on Saturday\, March 7\, from 5:00-7:00 PM \n“I feel so incredibly fortunate to have been invited to curate this exhibition\, which features such a remarkable group of artists. Space and Time carries its title for many reasons. It speaks to the time we spend within a space as special as the walls we work within at Clay Art Center. It can be the light reflecting from a candle lit in the dead of night\, shedding just enough light to make us pause\, reflect\, and return to the memories that shape our lives. \nThe body of work chosen for this exhibition holds the idea of space and time in so many different ways. Some of the pieces in this show flirt with playfulness\, while others resonate with a deep poetic nature. Together\, they reveal the thoughtfulness and intention each artist brought to this space and to this moment in time. \nUltimately\, this exhibition marks a moment where we have all gathered in a room together\, sharing not only our work but our presence.” – Max Seinfeld\, Guest Curator \nParticipating Artists: \nRana Amirtahmasebi\, Sylvia Arakas\, Peter Arnow\, Bob Clyatt\, Claire Cohen\, Rose Foley\, Nate Graham\, Michal Grapel\, Mara Gross\, Robin Henschel\, Debra Holiber\, Jonalie Korengold\, Denis Licul\, Sheetal Mehta\, Sally Ng\, Polina Nisenbaum\, Roberta Shapiro\, Maria Spiess\, Caito Stewart\, Jackie Welsh\, and Susan Wortman. \nOn view in the gallery and online: March 7 – April 11\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Saturday\, March 7\, 5:00 – 7:00 PM\, 2026 \nClay Art Center Artist Program \nParticipating artists are part of Clay Art Center Artist Program. Clay Art Center was created to be a thriving home for the ceramics community\, and today\, offers access to private and shared studio space so local artists can work in a community setting. This exhibition is a part of the professional opportunities available to artists who become a part of our studio artist program. \nClay Art Center Gallery Mission \nClay Art Center Gallery provides a platform for emerging and established artists to explore a wide range of topics that address materials\, processes\, and techniques\, and to engage in critical dialogue through clay. We are committed to exhibiting a variety of work from artists around the country with unique and diverse backgrounds\, as well showcasing our Clay Art Center artists and students.

SUMMARY:Soul Pause: Yoga\, sound\, and stillness for the heart and mind
DESCRIPTION:Soul Pause is a 90-minute experience created to soften the nervous system\, realign the body\, and reconnect you with yourself — while gently shooing away the Sunday Scaries before they have a chance to settle in. Through a nourishing interplay of yoga\, live sound\, and intentional stillness\, this immersive offering invites you to slow down\, breathe deeply\, and arrive fully in the present moment. Movement and sound weave together — sometimes distinct\, sometimes combined — creating a spacious\, grounding rhythm that supports rest\, release\, and renewal. \nThink of this as a weekly exhale: a pause before the pace picks up again. A place to reset your nervous system\, quiet the mind\, and step into the week ahead feeling steadier\, clearer\, and more at ease. Expect a soulful\, grounding experience that leaves you feeling restored\, supported\, and gently fortified for whatever comes next. \nAbout the Guides \nNeva Goldstein\nNeva began her journey with yoga in the early 90’s as a path toward healing back issues. She quickly became enamored with the practice and curious about all aspects\, including history\, philosophy and asana.\nAfter studying and practicing for a few years\, Neva received her 200 hour teaching certification\, completing 500 hours soon after. She has been teaching for over 20 years\, with a focus on Vinyasa style. She has also been trained and is experienced in yoga for cancer patients and prenatal yoga.\nNeva creates a supportive and encouraging environment in all her classes. Her students leave her class feeling refreshed\, tranquil and attuned with themselves and the world. \nPriscilla Warner\nPriscilla Warner is a NYT bestselling author whose books and workshops have been inspired by her own healing from trauma through somatic and mindfulness practices. As a certified sound healer and meditation instructor\, Priscilla creates grounding sound and movement experiences for individuals and groups. Learn more at: https://priscillawarnerbooks.com \nPlease Note:\nRegistration is required and closes 24 hours before the event start time. A minimum of six participants is needed for the class to run. If we don’t reach that number\, we’ll contact you about rescheduling or issuing a refund. \nIf you’d like to register after the window has closed\, please reach out to check availability and confirm if the class is still running. events@wainwright.org
