SUMMARY:Native Plant Sale at Hilltop Hanover Fram
DESCRIPTION:Looking to incorporate more native plants into your yard? Stop by the Hilltop Hanover Farm’s Farm Stand on Saturday\, September 26 from 10am to 4pm to purchase our farm-grown native plants. Plants will be available as ready to plant plugs. (Rain date: Sunday\, September 27th) \nAbout the Native Plant Program… \nThe Native Plant Program at Hilltop Hanover Farm is a farm-based initiative focused on strengthening and expanding local biodiversity by increasing the number of ecotype plants available in the community. Our native plant nursery specializes in seed-propagated\, local ecotype species\, native to our region. Starting with quality seed\, grown here at the farm\, and by using all organic practices\, we produce healthy seedlings that foster biodiversity. \nWhy Plant Native Plants? \nWestchester lands\, including forests\, wetlands\, meadows on both public and private spaces\, are under threat. Depleted soil\, new plant diseases and invasive species are taking a tremendous toll—as are the combined pressures of climate change\, pollution and development. Preserving and expanding areas where native plants are grown is a powerful way to combat these overarching environmental threats\, while also supporting animal and insect populations that are essential to a healthy ecosystem. Highly biodiverse ecosystems are more resilient and adaptable; they improve the soil\, prevent erosion\, protect against flooding\, lower temperatures at the ground\, and clean the air. \nPricing Coming Soon… (check link below) \nIndividual ready to plant plugs\nBuild your own nursery flat (50 plugs) \nSpecies List Coming Soon… (check link below) \nHilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center is a historic and working farm dating back to the 18th century\, owned and operated by Westchester County and supported by the Friends of Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center\, Inc. Spanning 187 acres\, Hilltop Hanover Farm is dedicated to the development and advancement of sustainable agriculture\, environmental stewardship\, community education\, and accessible food systems for all\, with a minimum 25% of produce grown being donated to food access partners.

SUMMARY:Architecture Tour of The Square House
DESCRIPTION:Join Rye Historical Society on the fourth Saturday of each month for an all-new Architecture Tour of the Square House! This fascinating tour begins in 1730\, when the first structure was built as a private home for Peter Brown. Tour goers then travel to the year 1780\, when major renovations helped to expand the Inn and Tavern’s business. Fast forward to 1830\, when the building was converted back a private home for the Mead family. In 1904\, to save the home from demolition\, yet another conversion turned the residence into City Hall\, and finally\, in 1964\, a colonial museum. Tickets are required for this one of a kind tour.

SUMMARY:RR250: Blood on the Sound: Two Authors\, Two Untold Stories of the Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Long before it was a quiet commuter suburb\, Rye was a battleground. DJ Hennes\, local resident\, RHS Board Member and author of Whispers of Liberty\, brings to life the whaleboat wars — the brutal\, no-quarter guerrilla campaign fought by raiders across Long Island Sound\, where Rye residents themselves took up arms in a conflict as vicious as any battlefield of the Revolution. \nBrian Carso\, lawyer\, historian\, and author of Gideon’s Revolution\, uncovers a story stranger than fiction: George Washington’s secret mission to kidnap the traitor Benedict Arnold and drag him back to face justice. \nTogether\, Hennes and Carso reveal how the messiest\, most dangerous truths of the Revolutionary War make for its best stories — and why historical fiction\, done right\, doesn’t have to choose between accuracy and adrenaline.

SUMMARY:Wainwright House - Don't Make Me Laugh: A Pelvic Floor Panel
DESCRIPTION:Don’t Make Me Laugh is a conversation twenty years overdue. Guided by Fiona Jalinoos\, this panel brings together three pelvic floor physiotherapists and a high-risk OB/GYN to talk honestly about one of the most consequential — and least discussed — parts of the female body. Not in hushed tones. Not in euphemism. In real\, structural\, useful terms. \nWhat’s actually happening down there across pregnancy\, birth\, perimenopause\, and beyond. What’s preventable. What’s treatable. What you should have been told years ago\, by someone who actually knew. \nThis isn’t a symptom-management talk. It’s the conversation that should have come first. \nThis event is open to all ages and genders who are curious to learn\, reflect\, and engage. Come for the conversation\, stay for the community\, and leave inspired by the possibilities of midlife. \nFacilitator & Panelists \nFiona Jalinoos\, C-IAYT\nCertified Yoga Therapist & Yoga Teacher\nFiona Jalinoos is a certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist with over 30 years of personal practice in various styles of yoga worldwide. With 25 years in academic medicine\, trained at Mount Sinai and Columbia\, then speding almost 20 years in hospital care in New York and Fairfield County earning multiple teaching awards\, I’ve pivoted\, reinvented\, and devoted the second half of my career to empowering women through education and advocacy that extends beyond traditional clinical settings. \nMy unique perspective as both physician and patient allows me to address the real challenges women face in healthcare. I specialize in translating complex medical topics into accessible\, actionable information—covering everything from evidence-based medicine to the emotional and holistic aspects of wellness. My approach combines clinical expertise with recognition of what women actually need: to feel seen\, heard\, and understood in medical spaces. \nAs a recognized voice in modern healthcare communication\, I focus on providing practical tools that help women become their own best health advocates. Whether working with organizations seeking authentic medical expertise on sensitive topics or reaching women directly through innovative educational approaches\, my mission remains the same: ensuring every woman has the knowledge and confidence to make informed health decisions. \nI’m also the author of Labor and Deliverance\, a women’s health book coming January 2027. \nMy “doctor best friend” approach to healthcare education has resonated with diverse audiences who appreciate credible medical expertise delivered with empathy and real-world understanding. \nDr. Victoria Colon\, PT\, DPT\nPelvic Floor Physical Therapist & Founder\, V Strong PT\nDr. Victoria Colon is a pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapist and the founder of V Strong PT in Armonk. My clinical journey took a more personal turn following my own experiences with pelvic health challenges after three vaginal childbirths and a diagnosis of lupus. These experiences inspired me to specialize in pelvic health in 2019. \nI approach care through a holistic lens\, recognizing the deep connection between physical\, emotional\, and mental health—particularly as it relates to the pelvic region and its impact on the entire body. I am committed to treating the body as an integrated system\, identifying root causes\, and providing individualized\, hands-on care tailored to each client. \nI am the founder of Revive Studio\, a holistic wellness center in Larchmont\, and HOPP Pelvic Floor Therapy\, a pelvic health clinic dedicated to supporting both women and men. SUMMARY:Sail Through History: An evening with Eric Jay Dolin
DESCRIPTION:Join Rye Historical Society for a special evening with Eric Jay Dolin\, critically acclaimed author of Rebels at Sea: Privateering in the American Revolution. Dolin will share fresh insight into the ways privateers were fundamental to the outcome of the American Revolution. At a time when the British navy was the most powerful force on the water\, the Continental Congress gave freelance fleets of whaleboats and merchant vessels letters of marque\, empowering them to scour the coastlines and open oceans in hopes of capturing British ships\, thereby putting a thorn in the side of the oppressive forces threatening colonial freedoms. \nLight bites and drinks will be available from 5:30-6pm\, the author presentation begins at 6pm with a Q & A to follow. Dolin will be available to sign copies of Rebels at Sea\, as well as his latest book\, The Wreck of the Mentor (books available for purchase courtesy of Arcade Books.) \n*Tickets required for this event and can be purchased individually or as a discounted bundle with the Lynx visit
