School Budget and Board of Education Vote: Tuesday

Today MyRye.com is re-printing the Board of Education candidate statements for your consideration and comments. Who do you support and why? Leave your comments under the appropriate candidate.

The Board of Education will hold an election for public vote on Board of Education candidates and on the 2009-2010 school year budget this coming Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

The single polling place for this vote is the Rye Middle School gym. The polling place is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. All Rye City School District residents who are registered are able to vote.

On the seven‑member Board there are three seats up for election this year.  The three Board of Education members whose terms conclude June 30th are eligible to run for re-election. The three candidates who receive the greatest number of votes will be elected to office. The term of office is for three years and begins July 1, 2009.

  1. Why does an organization like HealTheHarbor use a motorized safety violation to point out unsafe practices on Hen Island? The Floatie mobile has no air bags, anti-lock brakes, over-the-shoulder seat belts and too add more violations to the car, it has no catalytic converter so it pollutes the air. “You can’t make this shit up”.

  2. You are clearly unsafe @ any speed! Explain how any of this is a violation?

    It is simple, Ray. Hen Island’s septic and water systems are grandfathered in just like the out of date safety features in your floating turd car.

    The laws work both ways, unsafe is just pointing out your blatant hypocrisy.

    Outdated turd car = grandfathered by NYS DMV.

    Outdated sewer and water = grandfathered by Westchester County, City of Rye and NYS DEC.

    That is the bottom line of your non-issue and it sucks to be you.
