Not Pretty, The Brief, Notify Thy Neighbor—Items on the Agenda for City Council Wednesday – March 10, 2010

The city council's agenda for Wednesday, March 10, 2010 is out. See you at 8pm in the Council Room at Rye City Hall or on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. We'll also see you on the Internet (next day) at http://rye.peg.tv.

Note there will be an executive session immediately preceding the council meeting at 7:00pm to discuss personnel matters. Let's check the batting order and highlights from the 16 agenda items.

We don't see it on the agenda, but MyRye.com will be listening for an update on the Rye Golf Club sledding ban debacle. Councilman Joe Sack asked for an update on this issue last meeting but there was no news. Let's not let this one melt away with the warm weather.

  • Not Pretty. View of the State Report by New York State Assemblyman George Latimer.
  • Open Mic. Residents may be heard who have matters to discuss that do not appear on the agenda. Always a crowd pleaser…
  • Mayor’s Manager Report.
  • The Brief. Report on Recommendations for the City of Rye Law Department.
  • Batter Up. Update on the New York State Thruway Authority Lease for athletic fields.
  • Park or Parking? Rye Town Park Parking Committee update.

applications and to rescind Chapter 68-8(G) “Building and Demolition Permits”. And Public Hearing to amend the Code of the City of Rye Chapters and Sections: §170-6(F) “Subdivision of Land, Procedures for Tentative Approval of Preliminary Layout”; §170-7(C) “Procedures for Approval of Subdivision Plat”; §197-7 “Zoning, Site Development Plan”; §197-10 “Zoning, Uses Permitted Subject to additional Standards”;§197-81(F)”Zoning Appellate Jurisdiction of Board”; §195-5(C) “Wetlands and Watercourses, Public Hearings and Public Notification by Applicant”; §196-15 “Wireless Communications Facilities, Public Hearings Required”, regarding noticing requirements.
  • Money. Two appointments to the Finance Committee for a three-year term, by the Mayor with
    Council approval.
  • Roller coaster. Designation of the Chairman of the Rye Playland Advisory Committee by the Mayor.
  • The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. The City Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 15, 2010.

    1. Joe Sack and MyRye want to know the status on the Rye Golf Course sledding ban? LOL. Isn’t Joe the one who seemed to be a big Bob Schubert fan? That ended in a lawsuit. MyRye.com had it’s hand in the negative press the City also got on that issue. You can’t make this stuff up.

I hear Matt Fahey thinks that as long as you volunteeer your time to the City, the City is required to spend a quarter million dollars on your own pet PORK project. The City will be bankrupt if every volunteer demanded that. I guess Obama is right. PORK projects in your own interest are considered good gov’t. PORK projects not in your interests is corrupt gov’t.
