MyRye.com readers are reporting last night's July 4th fireworks show at Rye Playland was a screw-up – that the show started late and was very short, only to continue after a long delay.

The fireworks finally started at 9:45pm. After 6 minutes of “warm up” fireworks with one long pause, the show stopped. the crowd hung out for about 10 minutes and then started leaving. About 1/2 hour (10:20) after the fireworks stopped, they re-started. Hard to believe it was worth the cost to show them at that point since most of the crowd had departed–and what about the poor folks who paid to sit on the beach and/or park their cars??
