Yes – 1,221 or 74%
No – 421 or 26%
The approved budget for the 2012-2013 school year is $73,580,000, a 2.33% increase from the 2011-2012 school budget. The budget, which is below the tax levy cap of 1.96% and represents an estimated tax rate increase of 1.75%.

Did you really need to use the term ‘loser’ for Patrick Cox? I respectfully ask that you edit this post.
As much as I hate to agree with a fake name, I think you need to change Patrick’s label. He didn’t win a seat on the Board, but he cared enough to try – and we’re all better for the little bit of debate that came as a result.
It’s part of this town’s DNA.
Jay – what’s up with that? 755 votes for someone who only recently made the decision to run is not a loser by any one’s estimate.
Patrick Cox, whom I’ve never met, received more votes than four of the candidates who ran against Laura Slack last time. It’s tough for anyone to amass votes with Laura in the race – she’s so beloved here in Rye. Her coattails are powerful as well.
I hope he stays involved with the schools. He can learn a lot from this board. I am sure Laura will offer him opportunities to use his background to Rye’s benefit.
I think you owe Patrick Cox an apology.
