Rye City Schools will be open Election Day. "There will be school on election day for the schools that are open. Right now Midland, Middle, High and Rye School of leadership are open for tomorrow. Milton and Osborn tbd for now," said Mayor Doug French.

As one of the many people in our town who was sentenced to darkness and coldness, I would personally like to thank the employees of the Rye Free Reading Room for not only extending their hours of operation, but my making the library so welcoming to those who needed a warm place to spend a good part of the day and multiple tables for work/charging our electronic devices and some warm coffee. Let’s remember our library when budget time comes and their budget gets slashed. They were there for us when Mother Nature gave us a good swift kick in the butt!
