After watching last night’s City Council meeting, I would like to thank Mayor French, Deputy Mayor JOEvonavich, and Councilman Filippi for their consideration in making me realize that I was not the only one attacked and treated with arrogance and disrespect on a regular basis when approaching the podium at the Rye City Council meetings.

I feel comfort in knowing that I was treated with the same pompous, discord and unprofessionalism as Mr. Anthony Piscionere, Mayor John Carey, Mr. Larry Leman and the latest display of venom exhibited towards to Mr. Richard Slack at the last two council meetings. It’s nice to know that the likes of the change for Rye team are equal opportunity insulters.

Deputy Mayor JOEvonvich rather than practicing the pronunciation of your name, I have been focusing on obtaining the transcripts from your Sexual harassment trail with your ex employee Mrs. Judith Hill.

Mr. JOEvonvich I believe it is important that our residents know exactly who is attacking them in the City Council chambers. The Federal Court in San Jose California assured me we should have the transcripts shortly and I will be happy to share the most informative portions of them with the public.

Hi ladies or am I speaking to one person? There are no anger issues here. I think most of you would be happy living my life. I just believe that the citizens of Rye should know who is running their city. Seems simple to me…

So you think I am a sick puppy for informing the community of Rye:
1) That Mayor French milked the Rye school system for tax dollars and milked the milked the honest taxpayers out of building permit fees and property tax dollars.

2) That Deputy Mayor JOEvonavich was involved in a sexual harassment case and also involved in securities violations case.

Sick puppy? Do you think it was a sick puppy that had Bob Schubert arrested twice in order to keep him from speaking out @ City Council meetings? What was that puppy’s name? And do you think it was a sick puppy that call the Psychiatric unit of the medical center also to keep him from speaking @ city council meetings? What was that puppy’s name? Do you think it was a sick puppy that decided to allow the Gates to install drainage systems without permits just as Mayor French did? What was that puppy’s name?

My mom worked for twenty years raising a family of four children as a single parent. Think of the situation she would have been in if her choice was to let the boss sexually harass her or give up the ability to feed her kids.

Our Deputy Mayor has the nerve to correct Mr. Slack on the pronunciation of his name and then make a joke about it, after he was accused of involvement in this type of treatment of women in the workplace? The real joke is on us for electing him.

So glad to see that 8 March 2013 was yet another day of highly productive, highly educational, civil interaction and social commentary.

It speaks volumes when our political leaders put politics before the health and safety of the people. We had two cases of WNV in Mamaroneck last year, one less than a 1/4 mile as the mosquito flies from Hen Island. I am not an alarmist, just a realist and I hope for your sake that the first person in Rye to be infected is not from your family.

Ray – my comment was in keeping with the back and forth that took place today on this site; e.g., shoes, etc. It was not meant to criticize your issue, but rather to criticize the useless attacks expressed on this site.

You believe you have a valid issue and I support your right to point it out, make your case for change, etc. To date, you’ve had limited success with the approaches you’ve used – both the calm, reasoned comments at City Council meetings as well as your posts on myRye, Rye Patch, etc. Might I suggest a new approach is needed? Given that you’ve met with a similar level of responsiveness from multiple mayors, multiple city councils, and multiple city managers, a change would seem to be required.

I am sorry Bob but I don’t agree with you. I believe there has been a lot of movement. If you remember when the Hen Island issue was first brought to the City under the Otis administration their position was that the Island has been inspected and no problems were found. Then in 2008 in an effort to push my complaints out of the Rye City council meetings and into the County Health Department, Frank Culross issued two pages of violations for building and safety code violations. With that Steve Otis stated that Paul Shew was not truthful on previous inspections. See linked letter below:

In 2011 after I failed to comply with the Cities request for me to bring my complaints to the County, Mayor French and Mr. Pickup now acknowledge that there are substantial issues with Sewage and potable water on Hen Island. See below link;

That bring us to now, 2013. What we have now is a Mayor who is attempting to lead the public to believe that he has solved the sewage, potable water and mosquito issues with composting toilets and screen coverings for thousands of gallons of stagnant water. That Bob is an absolute outright lie. The original sewage systems are mostly all still connected and water tanks still breed mosquito larva (even after county inspections that were fudged in 2012) not to mention acres and acres of high reed mosquito breeding grounds still exist do to residents burying debris in the reeds and along the shore.

Unfortunately now Mayor French has created a new problem, as he has allowed 33 Cottage owners to install composting toilets without any permits from the building department. No Plumbing permits, No electrical permits and no permits from The DEC, The Army Corps of Engineers, or The Department of State as required by law. If you watch this last video you will see where the mayor in an effort to deceive the public endangers the lives of every Hen Island resident, every Hen Island child and every Hen Island guest, including the lives of our first responders that will have to respond, not if but when there is an explosion.

Interesting Bob, here in Rye we have Matt Fahey setting up an emergency preparedness group to assist when disasters strike as Mayor French creates these disasters in our own backyards.

In closing Bob, we seem to be getting major movements every couple of years from multiple mayors, multiple city councils, and multiple city managers. I would think that after the evacuation of the French administration we may see a new light. And then again maybe not only time will tell. Thanks for your input Bob.

I was always proud to say that as a child, my Mom or my Dad never hit me. (That is one big statement coming from someone born in the 50’s)

That being said. I am sorry I had to pull down the Mayor’s pants in public and spank his little cooley. But sometimes that’s what we have to do to our children when all else fails.

For the most part I do agree with you and Bob about posters hiding under fake names. But I must admit there are sometimes benefits in doing so. There are benefits when posters expose issues that they would normally hide if they had to put their name on it.

I believe to is very telling when they start attacking posters personally as they lose creditability and it gives us some background as to the type of person we are dealing with. It is also obvious that they only attack posters personally when the cannot attack the issues. (such is the case with my friends Rye Wit and Chris Henn) Most legitimate posters are not willing to expose themselves to what those of us that use out real names are subjected to.

Some of the posts are entertaining and can be very funny at times and as Mr. Floatie states “humor can always help to heal.” I know it is very hard to inject humor into your cause of child safety (especially given your tragic loss) but I must admit, I have had a tremendous amount of fun exposing these corrupt politicians that not only put politics before the health and safety of the public but also fill their pockets with legal fees from taxpayer dollars and political paybacks. In most times humor is much more effective that penicillin.

In closing Jimmy, I personally thank you for all you do in bringing school safety to the Rye community even though on many occasions I have witnessed others taking credit for your work and determination. Have some fun and don’t ever give up.

For those who always wanted to be a fly on the wall at executive sessions of the City Council, no worries, we now have Joe Sack who will reveal all that is said!

The fact that Mr. Flotie hasn’t won a lawsuit disputing the application of the LAWS by these officials is all you need to know. It’s not the officials , it’s the existing laws that Mr. Flotie doesn’t like.
