Rye Mayor Joe Sack asked us to share this celebration of Rye City Hall's Golden Anniversary!:
The 50th Anniversary celebration of the dedication of Rye City Hall will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 7 p.m. at Rye City Hall.
Ed Grainger and John Carey, who both were serving as Rye City Council members at the time of the dedication in 1964, and who both later served respective terms as Mayor of Rye, will be speakers at the special celebration on Wednesday night.
Student government representatives from the Osborn, Milton and Midland Schools will also recite excerpts from the speeches which were made at the dedication 50 years ago. All members of the community are invited to this historic event. Light refreshments will be served.
