According to one press report, Rye City Hall is "Rockwellian-like" as it appears in the upcoming move Freeheld starring Julianne Moore, Ellen Page and Steve Carell. The movie trailer for the film was just released.

You can view the trailer and read the press write-up below. You can see Rye City Hall at the 0:59 mark of the video:

"TOMS RIVER – The movie Freeheld, a dramatic film starring Julianne Moore as a terminally ill Ocean County detective who battled the Board of Freeholders to will her pension to her same-sex partner, is set to be released in theaters in October…

A trailer for Freeheld has been posted on IMDb (Internet Movie Database). The preview reveals that the filmmakers have taken some dramatic license with the real-life story of Detective Lt. Laurel Hester, who was a criminal investigator with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office for 23 years when she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer at the age of 49 in October 2005…

Although most of the story takes place in Toms River and Point Pleasant, the movie was shot in New York to take advantage of better tax breaks for the filmmakers. In this dramatized version, the exterior of the Rockwellian-like City Hall of Rye, New York — with its grand cupola clock and a sprawling, leafy front lawn — stands in for the plain, brick Ocean County Administration Building, which in real life has neither a cupola nor a clock."…

The interior scenes for the county administration building were filmed in the public meeting room of another aesthetically-pleasing New York municipal building: the North Hempstead Town Hall, which is about a 45-minute drive south of Rye."
