Hometown Media Group, which publishes five local papers including the Rye City Review, filed for bankruptcy on September 14, 2017. The filing holds the signature of the publisher, Howard Sturman.
The web page for the Rye paper shows it has been two weeks since a single story has been posted. The media kit for the paper says it reaches 7,126 households in Rye. According to Westfair Online, the group has listed assets of $178,680 and liabilities of $382,935.
Editor-in-Chief and Associate Publisher Christian Falcone is well known in Rye as he was the Rye beat reporter prior to his current role.
