The city council's agenda for its meeting on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 is out.

There will be regular meeting held by the City Council of the City of Rye on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Council Chambers in City Hall at 7:30pm. The Council will convene at 6:30pm and will adjourn into Executive Session to discuss litigation.

Let's check the batting order and highlights from the 14 agenda items.

  • Turn Off the Lights. Public Hearing to amend local law Chapter 176, “Energy Conservation”, of the Rye City Code by amending provisions related to the Sustainable Energy Loan Program in the City of Rye in accordance with Article 5-L of the General Municipal Law.
  • Open Mic. A crowd favorite. Residents may be heard on matters for Council consideration that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Vroom. Consideration of a request by the Rye Free Reading Room for use of the Village Green and City Hall Parking lot to host the Annual Vehicle Fair on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Mmmmm. Consideration of a request by the Rye Free Reading Room to allow two food trucks as part of the Vehicle Fair on May 20, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Encore! Consideration of a request by the Rye Free Reading Room for use of the Village Green on select Thursday, July 19th from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a free theater performance.
  • Pay or Detention. Authorize payment of the balance of the 2017/2018 Rye Neck Union Free School District taxes collected by the City to the School District. Roll Call.
  • Patronage. Appointments to Boards and Commissions, by the Mayor with Council approval.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

The Mayor and City Council have office hours in the Mayor’s Conference Room Annex at Rye City Hall, 1051 Boston Post Road. The Mayor’s Conference Room Annex is located on the 1st floor of City Hall adjacent to the Council Chambers. Hours are as follows:

Mondays 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Councilwoman Danielle Tagger-Epstein & Councilwoman Julie Souza.

Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mayor Josh Cohn, Deputy Mayor Emily Hurd & Councilwoman Sara Goddard.
