For only the second time since 1987, the decedents of Founding Father and Rye resident John Jay opened the family cemetery for public visitation on Memorial Day. The private three acre parcel is tucked away off the Boston Post Road nestled alongside the Marshlands Park.

President of the Jay Cemetery and Jay descendant Peter Doane welcomed the crowd of fifty or so, providing a history of the site and some detail on the 130 odd Jay family members at rest. Suzanne Clary of the Jay Center followed with additional history and stories.
