118 COVID-19 Positive in Rye; 776 Westchester Resident Deaths – Monday, April 20, 2020

Westchester County is reporting 118 COVID-19 positive cases in Rye as of Monday, April 20, 2020.

Rye guy and county boss George Latimer said that hiking and biking trails remain open, and that two of the county’s six golf courses (Mohansic in Yorktown Heights and Hudson Hills in Ossining) will re-open this coming Saturday.

Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic. The COVID-19 numbers (Note – certain numbers have not been updated by the State as of Friday, 8pm. The system is clearly struggling to collect and report accurate and timely numbers.):

  • Fatalities of Westchester residents: 776
  • Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – note reporting is only available for certain individual nursing & care facilities – State is not showing any reporting on Rye facilities (nothing on The Osborn home, Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing)
  • Fatalities in Westchester: 867
  • Numbers of persons tested: 73,340
  • Tested positive: 24,306
  • % Positive results: 33.1%
  • Persons tested today: 1,599
  • New positives today: 503
