If you lost food or prescription medicine over the last six days due Tropical Storm Isaias and the power outage, you can file a claim with Con Ed for reimbursement.
Here is the story:
- You must have experienced a power outage that lasted for more than 48 consecutive hours due to the storm;
- You can file for actual losses of food spoiled due to lack of refrigeration up to a maximum of $540;
- You can file for actual losses of prescription medicine spoiled due to lack of refrigeration.
Reimbursement is limited to spoiled food and medicine and required you to complete a form and provide certain proof of loss.
