In Memory: Kristin Cuscela Siano

Obituary - Kristin Cuscela SianoKristin Cuscela Siano, of Rye, N.Y., passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021, after a long struggle with metastatic breast cancer. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Kristin will forever be remembered for her kindness, warmth, gracefulness, curiosity, humility, loyalty and sense of humor.

Kristin was the daughter of Frank and Mary Lee (Wilcox) Cuscela of Dallas. She was a graduate of the Loomis Chaffee School, Lehigh University and Boston University, where she earned her MA in journalism. An accomplished writer and voracious reader, Kristin began her career as Press Secretary to U.S. Rep. Phil English (R-PA). After several years in Washington, D.C., she built a corporate career in New York with J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Alliance Bernstein and Guardian Insurance. She married her beloved husband, Matthew Siano, in January 2002.

After stepping away from work to raise her family, she returned to school to earn her educational credentials and taught English as a second language courses at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, N.Y., and Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y. When not taking care of her family or helping others, Kristin could be found at the gym, watching her boys playing baseball or curled up with a good book.

Kristin will be loved forever by Matthew and their sons, Michael and Alexander, her mother, Mary Lee Cuscela, her sister, Susan Carlson and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her loving father, Frank.

A service in Kristin’s remembrance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Rye Presbyterian Church, 882 Boston Post Road in Rye, N.Y. With attendance limited by COVID-19 restrictions, arrangements for virtual participation will also be made. Visitation will be held on Jan. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, N.Y. (914-698-5968).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kristin Cuscela Siano scholarship fund at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut.
