Rumors Dispelled by School District

On Monday, the day 9th and 10th graders went back to an in-person schedule, Rye social media groups on Facebook turned into an ugly rumor mill. The groups speculated and repeated rumors a school administration official was led out of a school building by security.

By Tuesday morning, the rumor mill was bad enough the Rye City School District Eric Byrne had to issue a communication saying the reports were false.

Good Morning RCSD Community,

Last night, rumors of a school district employee being arrested and removed from campus were spreading on social media. The alleged reports are false. There was no arrest or removal of any employee.
