Walk-Up Clinic Friday – 3 New COVID-19 Positives in Rye; 2,255 Deaths in Westchester – Thursday, April 29, 2021

Remember that Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer moved his COVID-19 briefings from daily to now twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. So no briefing on the other weekdays, but we do expect to continue to post daily COVID-19 counts for Rye and Westchester County for the foreseeable future.

For Thursday, April 29, 2021, Westchester reported the following City of Rye numbers via the County COVID dashboard.

1,427 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
40 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 1,387 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
3 new COVID-19 cases

Latimer said Westchester County Department of Health will be hosting walk up clinics for the administration of the Moderna vaccine for people 18 and over. The first clinic is this Friday:

Hours; 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Westchester County Health Department Clinic
134 Court Street in White Plains.

County vaccine numbers through yesterday, April 28:

  • Total: 325,435

Westchester County

  • 362,300 People with completed Vaccine Series
  • 498,222 People with at least one Vaccine Dose
  • 51.5% of Population with at least one Vaccine Dose
  • 967,612 Total County Population

Fatalities of Westchester residents: 2,255
Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – The Osborn Home in Rye is reporting eight (8) confirmed COVID-19 nursing home deaths, two (2) COVID Confirmed Out of Facility Deaths of NH Residents (Hospital-Other), six (6) presumed COVID-19 nursing home deaths and one (1) COVID Confirmed Deaths at ALF (assisted living facility) and four (4) COVID Confirmed Out of Facility Deaths of ALF Residents (Hospital-Other) thru April 28th.
Fatalities in Westchester: 2,435
Numbers of persons tested: 2,674,949
Tested positive: 127,521
% Positive results: 4.8%
Persons tested today: 9,996
New positives today: 128
