It has been a lousy week – or maybe a lousy 18 months.
But in the wake of destruction and loss can come help. “The Row America team and coach just showed up at our door, about 10 of them or more, and asked what they could do to help,” Orchard Avenue resident Tim Kirby told MyRye.com. “I put them to work with some heavy lifting I could not do on my own.”
The Boy Scouts showed up with helping hands and a $100 gift card and cleaning supplies. The Girls Soccer team was at the neighbors. The Rye Football team showed up.
“It was very comforting to see the Rye youth come out to assist those of us hit hardest by the storm,” said Kirby. “It has been a very stressful few days, but having family, friends and the Rye community lend support has helped a lot.”

Thanks for sharing this good news. I have been so impressed by the DPW crews that have cleaned up so much waterlogged stuff from the curb — including a bunch from our sodden garage. Going to drop off some goodies at their offices as I hear others have done from all around our community.
