Harold A. Cook was born in New York in 1922. In Rye his family lived at 461 Midland Ave and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Harold was a Rye High School Graduate, Class of 1942. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

Harold Cook Jr., a lifelong resident of Rye, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 at the age of 91 with his family by his side. He was born in Port Chester, New York on December 27, 1922 to Harold and Anna Cook. Harold attended Resurrection Elementary School and graduated from Rye High School. He was a WWII veteran having served as a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Coast Guard. He married Marjorie O’Rourke on December 14, 1945. He worked for the City of Rye as the Parks and Trees Supervisor before retiring after 39 years of service. He was an avid football fan, and during his lifetime played for and later devoted time and support to the Rye High School football program. He was also a devoted member of the Church of the Resurrection.

Harold was predeceased by Marjorie, his loving and devoted wife of 64 years in 2010, and his only brother, Gerard in 2011. Harold is survived by his two children: Pamela Jacobs of Rye, NY, and Harold Patrick Cook of Mt. Pleasant, MI; his grandson Sean P. Jacobs and wife Anne B. Jacobs of Norwalk, CT; and his four great grandchildren: Luke, Zachary, Marjorie, and Charlotte.
