MyRye.com features dogs and cats that are up for adoption by Pet Rescue, a no kill pet shelter in Harrison.

Stella                                                                                                                        Status: Adoptable
Age: 2.5 years
Breed: Pitbull
Gender: Female
Adult size: Large (55 lbs and over)
Weight: 70

Stella is a beautiful 2.5 year old pit bull, and weighs about 70 lbs. She is an affectionate, athletic dog who wants to be with her human friends all the time. Stella enjoys lots of exercise. She loves taking walks, going on hikes and running in the yard. Her favorite indoor activities are looking out the window, playing “tug of war”, chewing on squeaky toys and bones stuffed with peanut butter, and settling down with her family to watch TV.

Stella is housebroken, crate-trained and knows many commands like sit, spin, roll, down and paw (although she needs treats to do them!). With the exception of cats, Stella also loves other animal friends, even her guinea pig friend, and particularly other dogs, but her favorite thing is being with people. Stella lived with and loved her human siblings, and was always patient and gave kisses. Stella would enjoy a home with children, although she can sometimes forget her own strength.

Stella is a social girl and and always wants to be with a human or doggie buddy. Her new forever home should be one where she is not left alone for more than a few hours. If you are looking for a sweet, lovable companion who will return your love a thousand times over…your search is over.

If you want to meet Stella, or any of the other dogs or cats at Harrison’s Pet Rescue, you can learn more about the adoption and foster processes, email (nypetrescue@gmail.com) or call (914) 835-3332. The shelter is located at 7 Harrison Avenue in Harrison. You can also volunteer at the shelter.
