Three new police officers were sworn into the ranks of the City of Rye Police Monday morning. All three have previous police experience and transferred to the City of Rye from the NYPD, bringing a combined 15 years of law enforcement experience.

These additions bring the PD headcount to 36. The three new faces fill gaps left by the retirements last summer of Lieutenant Scott Craig and Sergeant Michael Kenny and Police Officer Angelina Cyr. The department is still working to fill a final 37th spot that was left open after the retirement of Public Safety Commissioner Robert J. Falk. Typically the department hires policer officers and promotes others in the department upwards into more senior positions.

The new officers have been assigned to the uniformed Patrol Division and will begin field training immediately. During field training, each officer is teamed up with a Field Training Officer to become familiar with City of Rye police policies, procedures and all patrol posts. The new officers will be given a permanent Patrol assignment upon completion of their field training.

The new officers are Gary Strebel, Daniel Dabrowski, and Paul Polintan.
