Rye Girls Varsity Rugby played its first ever 15s match against the nationally ranked, combined all start teams of Morris Rugby and Play Rugby earlier in the month, falling 0-20.
“This was Rye’s Girls first attempt at 15’ s rugby,” said Rye Girls Varsity Rugby Coach Ryan Fitzpatrick. “Rye had several opportunities to score but just couldn’t score. We played well but Morris is a powerhouse in the Elite league and we’re just too much for Rye.”
The girls’ varsity season stands at 2-3. They play Rugby USA Friday night at 6pm.
