Rye Girls Varsity Soccer tamed the Harrison Huskies Thursday, winning the home game 6-2.
“Rye played a solid game of soccer against Harrison,” said Rye Girls Varsity Soccer Coach Rich Savage.
The Garnets had six different goal scorers in today’s match against the Huskies. Lyla Keenan opened up the scoring with a perfect corner kick. Shortly thereafter Mary Sack received a beautiful pass and beat the keeper near side. Maddy Walsh ended the first half by beating three Harrison defenders.
Ava Cefaloni would score for the Huskies off a direct kick. Paige Vanneck would answer with another goal 30 seconds later. Bowyn Brown took a perfect shot from 30 yards out for Rye’s next goal. Signe Olsborg finished off the scoring for Rye with a perfect goal. Harrison would find the back of the net with two minutes remaining to bring the score 6 – 2.
