“We had a very great, very worthy and wonderful season,” said Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr. “We won some really nail-biting games and we played well. We got better as we went along. And from a coaching perspective and that’s all you can ask your players to do.”

On the Somers battle Garr commented: “We started out okay, we had the first half I thought was in pretty good shape, but I saw that [the team] having difficulty tackling. We missed a lot of tackles today. And to their credit, [Somers has] got some very good backs. That’s a talented team. They are number one ranked in the state for a reason and they were really good. “Through the pouring rain, the Rye cheerleaders pushed their way through the last game of the season,” said Rye Girls Cheerleading Coach Melissa Stone. “They cheered their hearts out and and tried to keep everyone’s spirits up. Although the game did not end as we hoped, we are very proud of the garnets of football and cheer. Luckily for cheer, winter season begins on Monday. We now turned our focus towards competition season and proving to everyone that we are part of the cheer world.”
