Rye police made two separate DWI arrests this past Wednesday evening August 2.
At approximately 7:58 pm, Rye Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Oakland Beach Avenue in the area of the Boston Post Road. William Wallace Haynes II, age 26, of Rye, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. All tickets issued to Haynes are returnable to the Rye City Court on August 22, 2023.
Less than an hour later, at approximately 8:50 pm, Rye Police Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver traveling on the Playland Parkway in the area of the I-95 North ramp. Alexander Nikaj, age 40, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. All tickets issued to Nikaj are returnable to the Rye City Court on August 22, 2023.
Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
