Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swimming and Diving Clinches Close Victory Against Byram Hills-Briarcliff-Pleasantville-Valhalla-Westlake

The Girls Varsity Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swimming and Diving Team won 96-84 against the Byram Hills – Briarcliff – Pleasantville – Valhalla – Westlake on Thursday. The team moves to 3-1 on the year after bouncing back from their last defeat to Ursuline.

Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook started the meet out strong when Kate Chesley, Kayla Lombardo, Megan Tiedemann, and Grayson Findlay won the 200 Medley Relay in a season best time of 1:52.79. Lombardo also won the 200-meter freestyle and 100M breaststroke.

Other swimmers from the Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook continued to find victories their respective races. Charlize Tavitian won the 200-meter Individual Medley, Tiedemann won the 100M fly, and Chesley won the 100M freestyle and 100M backstroke. Chesley qualified for the sectional championship meet in the 100M freestyle based on her performance on Thursday. Rye swimmer Ella Godden also had a great 500M freestyle to aid the team to its close triumph.

Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook (3-1) is back to the pool next week on Monday, September 23. Their meet is scheduled for 5:00pm at Suffern High School.
