37 Rye Moms – the Sole Ryeders – Raise $109K to Save the Ta-Tas
37 Rye moms.
1,454 miles walked.
$109,916.50 raised to fight breast cancer.
In case you saw one of 37 Rye dads flailing around town this weekend–kids screaming, late to soccer practice, eating junk food, too much screen time, up to late to watch Rye’s Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees lose in the 11th inning on Friday night–it was all for a good cause.
That’s because the 37 missing pieces–the Rye moms listed below–were participating in Avon’s Walk for Breast Cancer New York. With their team dubbed the Sole Ryeders, the 37 joined over 3,900 people walking 39.3 miles over Saturday and Sunday thru New York City and New Jersey (a marathon or 26.2 miles on Saturday, followed by a camp out, followed by another 13.1 miles on Sunday).
These Rye moms raised $109,916.50, twice their original goal of $50,000 and 1% of the event total of $10.2 million dollars.
