Craigslist.com: Find a Roommate, Selling Your Furniture and Buy Some Love
This writer has used the ever-useful Craigslist.com to hire employees and more recently to give away an old sofa. Other Rye residents have been using the service to buy and sell sex.
According to reports, including this one in the Journal News, the City of Rye police department, along with three other Westchester towns, conducted a nine month investigation of illicit sex sales by "high-priced prostitutes operating in their jurisdictions". Sixty-six "buyers" were arrested and police seized "$21,692 in apparent prostitution revenues".
These ladies can’t be that "high-priced" according to our math: even if you eliminate repeat customers these entrepreneurs gross just $328.66 per sale ($21,692 / 66).
It’s so typical of the courts to release the name of the poor slobs who arent’t cops or politicians. Ask yourself this question: what makes those arrested for solicitation so important, or above our scrutiny that their records are “sealed”?? This is federalism at it’s most perverse. Remember when the politicians, judges, and cops worked for US?
Who are the “high profile” arrestees????????????? DEMAND TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they’re judges!?!?!??
Maybe Paul McCartneys one legged wife is a high priced hooker? That’s a pretty steep price to pay for a one-winged bird (POA) Haa
Do you think our December 17, 2007 e-mail inquiry into Shew’s salary facilitated the Rye City Council meeting at 730 in the morning three days later to give O.P. his huge raise?
Also, the City of Rye DPW workers settled their contract on December 19, 2007.
THE TAMING OF THE PAUL SHEW
We are not sure if it is annual review time, a counter offer to keep him here or special dispensation for the verbal whip-lashing he takes from Councilman George Pratt, but the Rye City Council held a special early morning meeting on December 20th with a single agenda item.
The council voted to increase the compensation for City Manager O. Paul Shew by $8,000 as of January 1, 2007 and by $9,000 as of January 1, 2008.
Here is the roll call vote:
