Hot Police Uniforms and Leaf Blowers: Rye City Council – Agenda for February 13, 2008
Tune in to the City Council meeting live on Channel 75 at 8pm tonight, Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 on cable for the commercial free action.
The eighteen items on the agenda include some trailways talk, discussion of Central Avenue bridge traffic impacts (the bridge was wiped out by the April 2007 flood), noise regulations for leaf blowers, a proposal from The Long Island Sound Watershed Intermunicipal Council on storm water, appointments to the Conservation Commission and our favorite, a bid award for police uniforms.
On the uniforms, we just hope they put our guys in 100% cotton. Those polyester blends can be itchy. And we don’t want our men (and women) in blue who carry guns feeling itchy. Let’s make these folks comfortable.
Given the recent work by Commissioner Connors’ police department busting prostitutes and their customers, the department may need to requisition some unconventional uniforms.
