About the Artist
Heather Patterson has been painting professionally for over 18 years. She has exhibited in Manhattan and throughout Westchester. She has been a Rye resident for the past five years, during which time she has exhibited her work at the Rye Free Reading Room and the Rye Nature Center.
Heather has also donated her artwork to help raise money for various Rye organizations including The Friends of Rye Town Park, The Rye Historical Society and the Rye Arts Center. She also uses her time and talent to help raise funds for the PTOs of the schools her children attend. In 2005, she created a fund raising mural in the lobby of Midland school that raised over $30,000 towards the new playground.
A receipt of several awards, Heathermost recently a second place award at the Beaux Arts juried exhibit held by the Women's Club of Rye in October. Her work is regularly displayed at Carroll-Condit Gallery in White Plains, where she has been a gallery artist for the past eight years. Heather also shows much of her work online including a second web site dedicated solely to paintings of Rye.
Heather also accepts commissions for home portraiture and recently completed a commission of a Forest Avenue home. Heather currently works out of a studio located in her Garden Drive home and can also be found painting en plein air around Rye in the warmer months.
