Nickel and Diming Drivers, Flood Cash & More—Items on the Agenda for City Council Wednesday – April 15, 2009

(PHOTO: Drivers are going to get nickel and dimed after 6pm.) Let's check the batting order and highlights from the 21 agenda items. The city council will enter executive session at 7:01 p.m. to discuss collective bargaining prior to starting the open meeting at 8pm.

  • Open Mic. Never dull. Residents may be heard who have matters to discuss that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Flood Cash from Spano. Consideration of a resolution adopting a SEQR Negative Declaration and endorsing a grant request for a joint submission with the village of Rye Brook for Westchester County Flood Mitigation Program funding for a sluice gate at Bowman Avenue spillway.
  • Planner Planning. Presentation by Rye City Planner Christian K. Miller of the Central Business District Capital Planning and Streetscape Plan.
  • Nickel and Diming Drivers. Public hearing to amend local law Chapter 191, Vehicles and Traffic, of the Rye City Code, Section 191-38, to extend the hours of meter operation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Poo! Hen Island discussion.
  • Schubert Pond. Update on 980 Forest Avenue.
  • Assessing Appointment. Appointed by Mayor, with Council Approval (1) one person to the Board of Assessment Review term ending September 30, 2011.
  • Bad Guys. Authorization for City Manager to enter into an Agreement with the County of Westchester for 2009-2010 Prisoner Transportation Services.
  • Clean Guys. Authorization for City Manager to enter into an Agreement with the New York State Unified Court System for 2008-2013 to provide for the cleaning of the interior of the City of Rye Courthouse.
  • Square Guys. Scheduling of the Annual Square House meeting for May 13, 2009.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday April 29, 2009.

    I gue$$ they could discu$$ a po$$ible $ecret taxpayer funded buyout at yet another $ecret clo$ed door $e$$ion.

  4. VERY INTERESTING POINTS!!! BUT HOW COULD THIS BE…SCOOTER SAYS COVER UPS ARE NOT POSSIBLE. HEY- ANY ONE SEE THE FRONT PAGE OF THE JOURNAL TODAY? THE WHITE COP INVOLVED IN THE “ACCIDENTAL” SHOOTING OF THE BLACK OFF DUTY MT.VERNON COP TOOK HIS BADGE WHEN NO ONE WAS LOOKING…THEY ARE CALLING IT A COVER UP…. OMG SCOOTER COVER UPS ACTUALLY EXIST!

  5. You should check out tomorrow’s Journal News. Looks to me like Otis, Shew and Plunkett were lying all along about the previous inspections of Hen Island.
