No Swine Flu in Rye: This Little Piggy is Going to School

Looks like there is no swine flu in Rye. In a follow-up to yesterday's closing of the Rye School of Leadership, the district is planning to open the school Tuesday morning. Before you show up, remember to wash your hands… This announcement from the district:

"As a follow-up to yesterday's notice of the closing of the Rye School of Leadership, the district has been in contact with the Westchester County Department of Health to discuss this precautionary measure and any recommended future steps to take.

The Rye School of Leadership will reopen tomorrow.

The Department of Health strongly recommends the following for all students, their family members, faculty and staff members:

  • If you become ill with influenza-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, you  should stay at home and avoid contact with other people as much as possible to keep from spreading your illness to others. If you are concerned, you can  contact your family physician.
  • wash hands with soap and water often
  • keep hands away from  eyes, nose or mouth
  • clean shared spaces and equipment including keyboards and telephone receivers."
