My Soldier, a Rye High club that raises money for the Bob Woodruff Family Fund for Traumatic Brain Injury, raised $582 during their car wash fundraiser this past Saturday, May 9th, surpassing their $500 goal by 16%. Forty five drivers showed up to have their cars washed. Notable participants included the Rye Fire Chief, Rye social studies teacher Mr. Steel and Ray Tartaglione with his Mr. Floatie car.

At the start of the morning, lacrosse parents' cars were blocking the area My Soldier had booked for car washing. Some quick work allowed the group to find an alternate parking lot at the high school for the car wash. The group is currently organizing a trip to a veterans' memorial hospital.
