"A second Rye child has come down with a probable case of swine flu, health officials confirmed…
The news came one day after another Rye child tested positive from the state laboratory in Albany and officials mentioned the existence of another possibly ill child. Both cases still require final confirmation from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, which likely won't come before Monday…
She could not say if the two children had a connection, either by family or school.
The first child developed a fever, cough, runny nose and sore throat on April 25 and did not require hospitalization. He or she is now recovering at home. The child has not been in school since April 24, the day before becoming sick.
The second child also did not require hospitalization and is recovering. That child has not been in school since April 22, the health department said."
Just after 3pm today, a 10 year old child was hit by a passing car while crossing Midland near Palisade. The child has been taken to the hospital. Let’s all hope that the child will recover.
