After 26 years, Rye’s Panache Boutique to Close – Owner May Do Trunk Shows

That's a lot of Panache.

After 26 years in Rye, Debbie Barnwell will be closing her Panache Boutique at 86 Purchase Street in the heart of downtown Rye. Barnwell is holding a sale between now and the end of January with most items 50% off or more. The clothing store is for women in their 30s and up – "women who want to look fashionable, but not like their daughters," Barnwell told MyRye.com.

"I started the store 26 years ago (1984) in Rye because that is where I grew up. I attended college in Oneonta, got married,  moved to the city for a while. When my grandparents' died I moved back and bought their home in Rye and decided to open a store. I had been in the wholesale business of women's clothing for years. I plan to still continue in this vein, but in a different venue, perhaps trunk shows, or maybe personal shopping,  I am not completely sure yet.  I plan to stay in touch with my customers and figure out their needs. The trunk shows will be either held in town, or at my club in Rye," said Barnwell.

In an email to customers, Panache's Barnwell said "I will also be selling fixtures, book racks, hangers, computer table, file cabinets, etc. Pass this email to your friends and let them also take advantage of the great sale!! EVERYTHING MUST GO!!!!"
