Osborn Carnival Clears Record $87K
School carnivals are big business in Rye, NY.
On Saturday, hundreds turned out to enjoy the annual Osborn School carnival complete with games, food and a silent auction. The day raised a record $87,000 according to initial estimates. More typically the carnival raises $60-70,000. The silent auction alone raised $50,000 auctioning vacations, sports memorabilia, tickets, wine and and array or goods and services donated by local merchants.

Money raised funds cultural enrichment programs such as visiting authors and the annual star lab; technology purchases and books and media for the library. Osborn is fully equipped with smart boards due to past carnival and PTO fund raising efforts.
