Rye School Closings? Snow on Friday
MyRye.com will carry notice of Rye, NY School closings. Snow is expected overnight Thursday and accumulating 4-7 inches into Friday afternoon.
Rye City Schools have not issued any announcements as of Thursday at 11pm.
Back in December Rye City Schools announced a new notification procedures for delayed openings and school cancellations.
Using School Messenger, an emergency calling system, Dr. Edward J. Shine, superintendent of schools, will notify parents and students between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. if there is to be a delayed opening or school cancellation because of severe weather.
That same information will be posted on the District website, sent as an email message, posted on both Channel 77 (Cablevision) and Channel 40 (FIOS), and placed on the voice mail message to the District's general telephone number, 967-6100.
Closing and delay information will also be made available to MyRye.com and local TV and radio media.
If a student or parent has checked all of those notification points and information regarding a delayed opening or a school cancellation is not there, it means that school is open and students are to report for a normal day of school.
