Gerrymandering: Teach Your Kids How to Draw
The League of Women Voters – Rye, Rye Brook & Port Chester is sponsoring a screening and conversation about the documentary film Gerrymandering on Thursday, April 7th at 7:30 pm at Rye Neck High School’s Community Room (Hornidge Road, Mamaroneck).
After the film there will be an open discussion period at which the film’s Writer/Director Jeff Reichert will participate. No word if there will be popcorn or local pols present (both would increase the draw…).
Gerrymandering, is a provocative documentary on the issues of the once-a-decade, high stakes, redistricting process and its impact on the battle for control of Congress and State Legislatures. Following the census, district lines are redrawn to match the current population trends; Gerrymandering refers to the practice of allowing incumbent politicians to determine where those lines fall.
