Vincenzo "Vinny" Tamburro, the Rye City Building Inspector, passed unexpectedly yesterday afternoon. Tamburro, age 47, suffered a heart attack. He leaves behind a wife and family.
Tamburro oversaw Rye City's Building Department dealing with permitting and education around building, demolition and flood plain issues.
