Rye PD has issued a warning to Rye residents on possible flooding expected Wednesday:

The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rain for Wednesday, October 19th. Residents should monitor weather forecasts and reports through this period. The outlook:
FOR WEDNESDAY…PREPARE FOR HEAVY RAIN…STRONG WINDS AND MINOR TIDAL FLOODING AROUND HIGH TIDES.
A WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO ORGANIZE OVER THE SOUTHEAST U.S. TONIGHT AND MOVE NORTH ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST ON WEDNESDAY.
A WIDESPREAD 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS LIKELY…WITH A HEAVIER BAND OF 2 TO 3 INCHES POSSIBLE. THE HEAVIEST RAIN WILL FALL NORTH OF A COASTAL FRONT THAT WILL DEVELOP NORTHEAST FROM THE LOW DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY. SIGNIFICANT URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IS POSSIBLE WHERE THE HEAVY RAIN BAND SETS UP.
EAST WINDS ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 30 TO 40 MPH RESULTING IN TIDAL DEPARTURES FROM 1.5 TO 2.5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MAY CAUSE SOME MINOR TIDAL FLOODING DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THIS SURGE COULD BE EXACERBATED IN WESTERN LONG ISLAND SOUND BY WAVE ACTION.
