Former Rye Golf Club Manager Faces 15 Years in the Clink
Former Rye Golf Club Manager Scott Yandrasevich faces 15 years in the clink after being formally charged by the DA Tuesday. The golf club scandal was a focal point in the recent Rye mayoral race.
In a statement today, current Rye Mayor Doug French said ""I want to thank the DA's office for getting us to this day — it was a long time coming. Scott Yandrasevich was Rye's Bernie Madoff and has allegedly perpetrated a crime against Rye going all the way back to 2008. Many people trusted him over the years from different Club Commission members, Council members, Mayors, Controllers, Managers and staff. I am glad he has finally been charged and is facing his crimes. The City will pursue through our insurance carrier in getting the stolen funds back."

"Former Rye Golf Club manager accused of stealing $271,120 from city, club
The former general manager of the Rye Golf Club was arraigned Tuesday on charges he stole $271,120 from the city and club — nearly a year after he was first accused of the theft by local officials.
Scott Yandrasevich, 49, of Danbury, Conn., who worked at the city-owned club for 11 years, resigned in January, a month before Rye’s city council released a 17-page report detailing a dizzying paper trail of shell companies, ghost employees and bogus invoices at the club.
The report, prepared by an outside law firm, lit up the city and its findings were forwarded to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
On Tuesday, the DA’s Office formally charged Yandrasevich with a single count of grand larceny, a felony. Prosecutors said Yandrasevich stole from the club through a shell company known as RM Staffing, which he created, controlled and used to bill the city for services that were never provided.
If convicted, Yandrasevich faces up to 15 years in state prison. He was free Tuesday after posting $20,000 bond."
