Rye City Schools Ask for Holiday Action
If you are in the holiday mood, perhaps you can help out with these requests send over by the Parents Organization over at the school:
T-SHIRT FUNDRAISER FOR PHILIPPINE TYPHOON VICTIMS
On Tuesday, December 10, we will be selling T-shirts at lunch time outside the lunch room and after dismissal by the exit doors, to raise awareness about the devastation and raise funds to help those affected. The t-shirts will sell for $15 each. All proceeds will go the Philippine typhoon victims for immediate needs like food, medical supplies, water, clothing, and to help displaced people rebuild their lives. For the Philippine people, it will be a dark and dismal holiday season. Let us help brighten it up a bit by generously supporting this fundraising effort.
REACH OUT RYE – STILL NEEDS SOME PJS …. for HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
We've checked the list and we've checked it twice and the Rye community has been OH, SO NICE!!! We're almost there, no need to worry, but 48 kids need help before the first flurry… (OK, it's a stretch!)
Some of our Carver kids are still waiting to have their needs adopted. Of the 192 children that are supported by the Carver Center, all but 48 will receive holiday warmth this December. However, we haven't hit our goal yet, and we come to you with hat in hand, asking for help for these last few kids this holiday season.
24 of these kids are in need of PAJAMAS, WARM SLIPPERS, and an AGE APPROPRIATE BOOK, while another 24 of the kids (our tiniest tots) are in such dire need that we're seeking WARM WINTER JACKETS, MITTENS/GLOVES, A WINTER HAT AND AN AGE APPROPRIATE BOOK.
Won't you help?? Please e-mail Craig Dreves at [email protected] if you'd like to participate and he'll send you the name, age, and clothing size of a child. ALL DONATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY December 13, which is only 10 days away. Thanks for reaching out!
