Rye High School Drops in Ranking of “Most Challenging Schools”
Rye High School has earned recognition on the Washington Post’s list of Most Challenging High Schools, ranking number 213 out of over 2,025 schools nationwide. But that ranking dropped 34 spots from 2013. In fact, the school's ranking has dropped every year since 2007 when it was ranked numer 74 on the list.
In the current study, of the 312 schools ranked in the Northeast, Rye High School is ranked 20, and when private and charter schools are not included, it is ranked at number 11. Of the high schools in New York State Rye is ranked 16, and 10 without the private and charter schools.
The Washington Post scores are based on the number of college-level tests administered in the previous school year, the number of graduates, the percentage of graduates who passed at least one college-level test during their high school careers, and other factors.
