Rye Baseball’s Community Service
While visiting Florida to play baseball at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in April, Rye’s Varsity Baseball team volunteered at the Howard Phillips Center for Children and Families, located in Orlando. The facility provides dignity and healing services for children, families and individuals who face overwhelming challenges such as abuse, trauma, developmental disabilities, and lack of access to medical care.
It was a busy few days for the team members. When they were not playing baseball, they helped out at the Howard Phillips Center by cleaning and detailing vans used for transit and organizing storage facilities on-site. The coaches, Athletics Department staff members, and administrators at Rye High School are proud of these students for their efforts and willingness to make a difference in other communities.
